This page explains what data Stratus collects, how it is used, and how you can request its deletion.

Data We Collect

  • Browsing data: When you visit the website, your user agent (browser, version, and operating system) may be stored temporarily for bot detection. This data is cleared roughly every 3 months and is not linked to any account.
  • Account data: When you create an account, your username and password (hashed using argon2) are stored, along with your account creation date and any data generated at creation time (avatar, thumbnails, etc).
  • IP addresses: Your IP address is hashed and stored temporarily during login and account creation for rate limiting and security purposes. Hashed IPs are automatically deleted after approximately 1 hour and are never directly linked to your account.
  • User-generated content: Any content you input on the site (descriptions, statuses, forum posts, uploaded images, etc.) is stored. Status update history is retained, while only the most recent description is kept.
  • Game data: When you join a game, connection information is temporarily generated to authenticate your session. This information is not permanently stored on our servers.

How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain the Stratus platform and its features.
  • To detect and prevent abuse, bots, and malicious activity.
  • To enforce our Terms of Service.

Third-Party Services

Stratus uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Account Deletion

You can request an account deletion by clicking here. You must be offline for one week before your account can be deleted. Since your online time updates every time you visit while logged in, log out first and then return in one week to complete the deletion. When your account is deleted, all personal information is removed, though uploaded content (such as images) may be retained.
